How to pack your console for shipping

Packing your parcel correctly is essential to keep your console safe in transit. Follow this step-by-step guide to properly pack a PS5, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 or any other console before shipping.

What you need

A sturdy cardboard box, sized to fit the console (typically 40x40x20 cm)
Bubble wrap or polystyrene for padding
Good-quality packing tape
An anti-static bag or plastic bag to protect the console from moisture

Step 1: initial protection of the console

Wrap the console in an anti-static bag or bubble wrap, making sure all sides are covered. If the console has an internal hard drive, we recommend leaving it in place.

What to include in the parcel:

The console only
The internal hard drive, if present
DO NOT include cables, controllers, power supply or accessories (unless they are part of the job)

Step 2: padding the box

Fill the bottom of the box with at least 5 cm of bubble wrap or polystyrene. Place the console in the centre and pad all sides, making sure the console does not move when you gently shake the box.

Step 3: sealing and address

Close the box with plenty of packing tape, sealing all openings. Attach the shipping label sent to you by email by ConsoleModding.it to the top of the parcel, without covering the edges.

What NOT to do

Do not use damaged boxes or boxes of the wrong size
Do not leave empty spaces inside the parcel
Do not use newspaper alone as padding (it does not offer enough protection)
Do not ship a console without its protective bag

Shipping with home pickup

If you chose Home pickup when ordering, our courier will come the next working day to collect the parcel directly from your home. Prepare the parcel following this guide and have it ready to hand over to the courier.

Shipping with a courier at your own expense

If you prefer to use an express courier at your own expense, after completing your order you will receive by email the full address to send the parcel to. Remember that ConsoleModding.it is not responsible for damage caused during transport if you do not use our pickup service.
