PS1 KSM-440BAM Replacement Laser Lens

The KSM-440BAM laser lens is the original replacement part for the CD-ROM drive of the PSone (SCPH-10x), the slim version of the PlayStation 1, and can also be fitted to earlier PS1 Fat models.

When to replace it

• The console no longer reads games
• Very slow loading or constant "Please insert disc" errors
• Intermittent operation

Compatibility (KSM-440BAM)

• ✅ PSone slim SCPH-100 / 101 / 102 / 103 — direct fit (it is the factory-fitted lens)
• ⚠️ PS1 Fat SCPH-1001 / 5501 / 7001 / 7501 / 9001 — requires a flat extension cable (included) and reusing the top cover of the original lens

For PS1 Fat SCPH-5500 / 7000 / 7500 we instead recommend the KSM-440ADM lens, which is a direct fit.
