What is FreeMcBoot

FreeMcBoot (FMCB) is the go-to software mod for the PS2: it is installed on a memory card and automatically launches the modded menu at power-on. No soldering, no modchip, no hardware modification: the console stays original and the mod is reversible simply by removing the memory card.

What is MX4SIO

MX4SIO is an adapter that plugs into the memory card slot and holds a microSD card: OPL reads games directly from the card, with faster loading than USB and nothing sticking out of the console. It is the cleanest, most compact solution for a PS2 Slim, which has no internal hard drive bay. The console is delivered with the adapter already inserted in slot 2 and the microSD formatted and ready.

What is OPL (Open PS2 Loader)

Open PS2 Loader is the app that boots PS2 games from MX4SIO, USB or network. It supports almost the entire PS2 library and includes game cover art, cheat support, compatibility patches and widescreen mode (GSM). The console is delivered with the latest stable version of OPL, already configured to load from microSD.

What is PSBBN

PSBBN is Sony's official graphical interface for the PS2, brought back to life by the community: a modern menu with icons, cover art and automatic organisation of PS2, PS1 and homebrew games. It comes pre-installed and configured on the console alongside OPL, for a tidy and enjoyable experience.

Compatibility

All PS2 Slim consoles (SCPH-70000, 75000, 77000, 79000 and 90000 series). The console model and colour may vary depending on availability; if you have a specific preference, state it in the order notes. The PS2 Slim does not support an internal hard drive: if you want your games on an internal hard drive with FreeHDBoot, choose our modded PS2 Fat.
