PlayStation 2 Slim 7000x Replacement Reset Switch Button
€7,99 EUR
The reset switch button is the tactile micro-switch soldered onto the front panel board of the PlayStation 2 Slim, the one that handles powering on, resetting and switching off the console. It is a mechanical component subject to wear: after twenty years of presses, oxidation and dust, it is one of the most common causes of a PS2 Slim that "won't turn on any more".
When to replace it
- The PS2 Slim won't turn on or only turns on after many attempts
- You have to press the button several times or hard for the console to respond
- The button is sunken, stuck or has poor spring action
- The console restarts or shuts down by itself for no reason
- The button stays pressed and the PS2 goes into a continuous reset loop
Before replacing the power supply or writing the console off as dead, it is always worth checking this switch: it costs just a few euros and fixes a very high percentage of no-power cases.
