Who hasn't forgotten a password at some point? I bet it has happened to you too.
Just as you've probably forgotten the 4-digit PIN used for the Nintendo Wii Parental Controls.
Yes, maybe you set it up when you first switched the console on and then forgot it because you never used it.
It happens to many users: after years of not using the console, they need to format and/or restore it for some reason, and that's when this incredibly annoying problem appears...
If you don't remember the PIN, the console lets you answer a secret question... except that, more often than not, you've forgotten that answer too...
So what now? Have you lost the chance to restore your beloved console?
The answer is simply NO! I'll show you how to solve this problem in under 2 minutes, in a really simple way.
Removing Parental Controls on the Nintendo Wii
- Open Wii Settings from the main menu
- From the settings menu, open Parental Controls
- You'll be asked to enter the PIN, but of course you don't remember it, so select I Forgot
- You'll now be asked the secret question, but you don't remember that either, so select I Forgot again
- The console will now give you a code that you'll need shortly
- Use any device (PC, smartphone or tablet) to go to this address
- Enter the code in the Confirmation Number text box, select today's date and click Get Reset Code
- The site will give you a 5-digit PIN that you'll need for the last step
- Press OK on the console and enter the 5-digit code
- Magic! Parental Controls have been turned off — I told you it was really simple
You'll no longer have any problems restoring your console or changing other settings.
